Hi, I’m William Cowey, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a deep passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges. If you’re feeling trapped by anxiety, overwhelmed by critical thoughts, or struggling to find hope, I’m here to help you move forward. Life’s difficulties can leave us feeling unworthy, like we’re not good enough, but therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore those feelings and make meaningful changes.

In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding your challenges and why they persist. My approach is grounded in practical, evidence-based techniques to help you challenge negative thoughts, build resilience, and regain control of your life. Whether you’ve been in therapy before or this is your first time seeking support, I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll work towards the changes you want to see.

I have completed over 5000 hours of 1:1 therapy helping 500 people, and I bring over 8 years of experience working in a variety of settings, from inpatient units to community teams. I’ve helped individuals facing a range of issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD and more. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Neuropsychology, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Psychological Therapies. I’m also accredited by the BABCP, the accrediting body for CBT Therapists.

In therapy, I believe that everything should make sense—we need to understand both where the difficulties lie and why they’re there. I take a collaborative, supportive approach that balances empathy with a clear, strategic focus on growth. I’m here to listen, challenge when necessary, and help you find the tools you need to live more freely and authentically.
